Browne was way too mellow.
The concert disappointed both my date and I. Too many of Dogstar's songs were too mellow for our liking, leading us to occasionally doze off. We were seated in the lower balcony, struggling to comprehend only about 20% of the words spoken and sung. The opening act with Sarah was enjoyable, as she delivered a laid-back performance with a few upbeat songs. Jackson Browne's die-hard fans seemed to appreciate his overall concert, while casual fans hoped for more of his hits. It wasn't until the last three songs, some of his older upbeat hits, that he truly engaged the majority of the crowd. Although his voice remained strong, his lyrics were indecipherable to us at this point in his career.
